This program is geared to college and graduate students who are pursuing a career in Graphic Design, as well as professional designers.

In these dynamic classes students are introduced to the fundamentals of visual research, composition & layout, typography, and the organization of information. A key goal for all students is learning to develop powerful concepts. The final product of the course is a branding piece that combines the work, experience, research and inspiration gained throughout these 2 weeks.

Students will showcase their final work at a public exhibit in NYC.

A Certificate of Completion is issued once the program is completed.

Graphic Design I: learn from the Masters in N.Y.

In this studio class, students are introduced to graphic design through a series of "master studies". These sessions are focused on two areas:
- in-depth studies of designers who have made important contributions to graphic design practice and theory in New York City. Students will learn about different designers and their contributions to NY, with a close look at their significant projects and creative processes.
- Students build on their graphic design experience by investigating real-world applications of communication design in NYC, with an emphasis on concept development as applied to problem solving. Topics covered include creation of the elements of brand identity programs, such as logos, publications, advertisements, and websites.

Branding Workshop I: Creating an Identity

A great brand identity comes from matching great solutions to the right problem. This studio class will observe the basic principles of brand identity and develop a clear understanding of how to design brands. Understanding all the elements it takes to build a strong brand is key to its success. Emphasis will be placed on how to create a consistent brand: identify a company's personality; design a logo; create the visual elements that support this brand; and think about its identity for various uses. Students will complete a design project through exercises, group critiques and presentations. Each completed design project will be showcased in the final exhibition, as well as an opportunity to include as a portfolio piece to their existing work.

Branding Workshop II: Bringing Brands to Life

In this studio class, students will conceptualize and create a poster/website/packaging (any design piece) to complement the branding workshop class, honing their layout skills and developing their unique composition style. They will be encouraged to think beyond the norm and be on trend with the fast changes in the digital and physical world. They will begin by focusing on how to design features and the general look of the design piece of their choice, and then concentrate on finessing their designs. Students will complete a design project through exercises, group critiques, research and presentations. Each completed design project will be showcased in the final exhibition, as well as an opportunity to include as a portfolio piece.

Masterclass & Q&A with Professionals

Students will attend 3 Masterclasses/ Q&A sessions with Professionals in the Graphic Design field. The purpose of these sessions is to directly connect students with diverse real world experiences. This will allow them to understand and learn about the infinite industries and possibilities that the Graphic Design career has to offer. Students will be able to ask questions and clear their doubts by talking directly to a professional working in NY. This will not only serve as a huge source of inspiration, but as a networking tool for future references as well.

Students must bring their personal laptops.

Classes are in English.

Must have a Tourist/Visitor Visa to enter the country.
Students attend classes Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm.

Attendance is mandatory. Students who miss more than two class sessions will fail the course, subject to faculty and administrative review.

Out-of-class work, which is assigned daily, is a substantial part of the program.
