DESIGN FOR LITERACY WORKSHOP | LIVE ONLINE
6 SESSIONS | WEDNESDAYS | OCT 11 - NOV 15 | 6:30-8:30 PM (EST)
6 sessions training with the best in New York City.
Students will work with the social enterprise, DERT (www.dertbook.com) to create book designs that are targeted to 21st century readers, creating storybooks that promote early childhood literacy. Students will design and illustrate their own children’s storybooks. These can be tales from classic sources, folklore from various cultures and/or customized or originally written stories that support the brand's mission: to help children grow and learn how to better navigate through life’s everyday issues and opportunities.
The final product of the course is a Children's book that combines the work, experience, research and inspiration gained throughout these 6 weeks.
This program is geared to anyone interested in learning illustration and book design skills. Please note that knowledge of illustration is not required.
A Certificate of Completion is issued once the program is completed.
